Jacqueline Ann steaming at 9.5 knots in the Moray Firth after completing successful fishing trials in July 2013
Woodsons of Aberdeen supplied the electronics package fitted in the wheelhouse of Jacqueline Anne and installed e-SEA TV & communications.
Jacqueline Anne FR 243, the first of a new design of 23m twin rig trawler to be built by Macduff Shipyards Ltd. ran successful engine and fishing trials in the Moray Firth before being handed over to Fraserburgh skippers Adam Tait, together with his sons Adam and Jonny, reports David Linkie.
Named after Adam Tait’s wife, Jacqueline Ann’s new double-chine hull form, designed in-house by Macduff Shipyards to deliver optimum levels of propulsion efficiency and fuel economy, performed well on trials.
The trawler’s centreline machinery package includes a Mitsubishi S6R2 main engine (480kW @ 1350rpm), Reintjes 7.09:1 reduction gearbox and a 2300mm diameter propeller turning in a fixed nozzle. BT Marine supplied the custom designed propeller and nozzle, which incorporates a triple rudder arrangement.
Jacqueline Ann’s customary package of deck machinery was manufactured by Macduff Shipyards and Thistle Marine.
The vessel uses a set of Thyboron trawl doors to spread 180ft twin rig prawn trawls made by Stuart Buchan of Fidelis Nets Fraserburgh.
Insured by Sunderland Marine Jacqueline Ann is expected to work 6/7 day trips from Fraserburgh before landing through Westward Fishing Ltd.
